The iPad Pro is the top model in the iPad series.

'Today we're not only pushing the boundaries of what's possible with iPad, we're breaking them!'

Musical instruments and paints placed in a giant press.

I was crushed in an instant.

Everything was flattened and 'destroyed.'

Only one iPad Pro remained on the press.

When you pick it up, you'll notice how thin it is.

The newly announced iPad Pro comes in two models, an 11-inch model and a 13-inch model.

The 11-inch model is 5.3mm thin.

The 13-inch model is 5.1mm.

Compared to the previous generation iPad Pro (left), the new iPad Pro (right) is noticeably thinner.

The new iPad Pro is said to be even thinner than the iPod nano , which was released in 2008 with the tagline 'the thinnest ever.'

'It's the thinnest product Apple has ever made.'

The weight of the 11-inch Wi-Fi model is 444g, the Wi-Fi + Cellular model is 446g, the 13-inch Wi-Fi model is 579g, and the Wi-Fi + Cellular model is 582g.

Both models come in two colors, silver and space black, and have bodies made from recycled aluminum.

The display will be the first to feature an OLED (organic light-emitting diode) display on an iPad.

However, it seems that a single OLED panel cannot achieve the brightness required for the XDR performance that iPad Pro users want, so the new iPad Pro uses a display with two OLED panels.

Tandem OLED technology uses two OLED panels in one display, controlling the color and brightness of each pixel in sub-millisecond increments to boost the brightness of XDR displays.

This tandem OLED technology promises a full-screen brightness of 1000 nits and a peak brightness of 1600 nits in HDR.

The new OLED display captures more detail in shadows and dark areas than ever before, and reproduces even the light of small stars with high accuracy.

Of course, the movie experience is improved.

Additionally, a new option has been added: nano-texture glass for the glass covering the display.

Nano-texture glass is glass that has been etched with nanometer precision, scattering ambient light and reducing glare while maintaining image quality and contrast.

And the question is what chip the iPad Pro will have. The previous generation iPad Pro was equipped with the M2 .

However, the new iPad Pro required a further leap to the next generation of Apple silicon.

That's where the M4 chip comes in.

With the new M4 chip installed, heat dissipation is a concern. The new iPad Pro has a graphite sheet built into the body and uses copper for the Apple logo to improve heat dissipation performance.

Compared to the previous generation iPad Pro, heat dissipation performance has been improved by 20%.

The new iPad Pro is up to four times faster than the previous generation M2 iPad Pro.

It is said to be up to 10 times faster than the first generation iPad Pro equipped with the Apple A9X .

In addition, iPadOS includes machine learning frameworks such as Core ML, allowing developers to take advantage of the M4 chip's Neural Engine to develop even more powerful apps.

One example is the video editing app Final Cut Pro and the music production app Logic Pro, which both received major updates in 2023.

In Final Cut Pro, final rendering is up to 2x faster compared to the M1 iPad Pro.

It also supports 'Live Multicam,' which allows you to connect and preview up to four cameras simultaneously.

And 'Final Cut Camera' will be released.

With Final Cut Camera, you can easily connect multiple iPhones or iPads and seamlessly transition from shooting to editing.

Videos can be saved to an external drive via USB-C and edited directly from the iPad.

It also supports up to four times more ProRes RAW streams compared to the M1 model.

Color editing and effects can also be applied, making HDR content even more beautiful.

Logic Pro now has a new feature called Session Players, which allows AI to accompany your performance in real time.

It also makes it possible to quickly extract any part from an audio recording.

About the camera installed in the new iPad Pro.

The main camera is a 12-megapixel wide-angle camera with f/1.8 resolution and up to 5x digital zoom, and supports Smart HDR 4 and 4K ProRes recording.

It also comes with four studio-quality microphones.

It also has a LiDAR scanner.

Adaptive True Tone Flash

The new True Tone flash and AI technology have been used to improve document scanning accuracy.

This scanning function can be used not only with the original 'Camera,' 'File,' and 'Memo' apps, but also with third-party apps.

Additionally, the front camera is a 12MP ultra-wide-angle TruDepth camera with an aperture of f2.4, which has been moved to the horizontal edge.

In addition, 'the way you charge and pair the Apple Pencil will also be completely revamped.'

It was also announced that a new Apple Pencil, the Apple Pencil Pro, will be released.

The new iPad Pro supports two types of Pencil: Apple Pencil Pro and Apple Pencil (USB-C) .

In addition, a new model of the Magic Keyboard has been released.

The new iPad Pro comes in two colors: white and black.

Additionally, function keys have been added to the keyboard.

The palm rest is made of aluminum.

The trackpad area has also been increased.

Apple once again emphasized that the iPad Pro is the thinnest product in its history.

Both the 11-inch and 13-inch models are available in four different storage options: 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB. The configurations are almost the same except for the storage, but both models have a 9-core M4 chip CPU for the 256GB and 512GB models, and a 10-core M4 chip CPU for the 1TB and 2TB models. The Nano-texture glass option is only available for the 1TB and 2TB models.

The iPad Pro 11-inch model starts at 168,800 yen (tax included), and the 13-inch model starts at 218,800 yen (tax included).

The new Magic Keyboard is priced at 49,800 yen (tax included) for the 11-inch model and 59,800 yen (tax included) for the 13-inch model.

The Apple Pencil Pro costs 21,800 yen including tax.

Pre-orders for the iPad Pro, Magic Keyboard, and Apple Pencil will begin on Wednesday, May 8, 2024.

The release date is Wednesday, May 15, 2024.

Price cuts for the 10th generation iPad were also announced. The 64GB model will start at 58,800 yen (tax included), and the 256GB model will start at 84,800 yen (tax included).
