It was reported that the Cybertruck's accelerator pedal cover had come off and gotten caught in the seams of the footwell, causing the pedal to remain pressed down. Tesla explained that 'an unauthorized modification had been made to the accelerator pedal using a lubricant (soap) to aid in the attachment of the pad components to the pedal, and residual lubricant reduced the pad's ability to hold onto the pedal.'

Tesla demonstrated how to repair the accelerator pedal at an event called Cyber Takeover held in Long Beach, California, USA. The video below clearly shows how quickly it takes to repair the accelerator pedal without removing the cover.

◆ Cybertruck may be damaged if it is not in car wash mode
Cybertruck owner and TikTok user captian.ad reports that after just a few thousand miles, his Cybertruck has become a brickweight. After driving the Cybertruck on the beach and washing it, he reported that the Cybertruck's console screen went black and became unresponsive. This was not fixed even after going through the default reboot procedure and resetting the Cybertruck to factory settings.

In addition, the Cybertruck owner's manual warns, 'Do not wash the vehicle in direct sunlight,' and also explicitly states that the Cybertruck must be switched to 'car wash mode' before washing to avoid damage to vehicle parts.
