Tesla's Cybertruck is an electric pickup truck that features a straight-line body made of stainless steel alloy. However, in April 2024, nearly 4,000 Cybertrucks were subject to a recall due to a malfunction of the accelerator pedal , which caused problems. In addition, a defect was reported on X (formerly Twitter) in which 'the accelerator was not released even when the brake was pressed, and the rear wheels accelerated with the wheels locked.'

Cobra1 reported the Cybertruck malfunction and posted a photo of the Cybertruck with the front end damaged after a collision.

According to Cobra1, after five years of waiting for his Cybertruck to be delivered, the vehicle suddenly accelerated just four hours into the journey. After reviewing security camera footage, the Cybertruck was shown accelerating and climbing a hill at high speed, crashing into a neighbor's house, despite the rear wheels being completely locked.

Cobra1 said he pressed the brake pedal all the way down, but the throttle and steering were unresponsive, and he left a 50-foot-long (about 15-meter) skid mark on the ground.

Cobra1 immediately contacted Tesla, who told him, 'We checked the logs, and depending on the terrain, the accelerator may or may not be released when you apply the brakes. We're currently investigating why the rear wheels were locked.' They then told him to negotiate with his insurance company to cover the costs of the damage.
