Google starts offering a function on a trial basis that ``makes a call on behalf of the user and waits until the person in charge appears''
Google is piloting a feature called ` `Talk to a Live Representative, '' where Google will make a phone call on your behalf and put you on hold until someone comes out. This feature was introduced by technology media 9to5Google.
#Google Labs added a 'Talk to a live representative' experiment that sounds like the excellent 'Hold for me' feature of the #GooglePixel .

Talk to a Live Representative can only be used by certain companies such as Alaska Airlines, Costco, and FedEx at the time of article creation.
When users search for these companies' phone numbers on Google, they may see an option to 'Request a call.'
If the user selects this, Google will call each company's support line on their behalf, hold the call until a customer service representative comes out, and then Google will call the user and connect them with the representative. During this time, users will be able to receive feedback via SMS regarding call status and approximate waiting time.
In some cases, users can select the purpose of their call, such as 'I want to change a reservation' or 'I want to cancel a flight,' and can quickly connect them to the appropriate department.
According to Google, ``Talk to a Live Representative'' is available for Search Labs users in the United States and is available in the Google app on Android or iOS, and Chrome on the desktop.
Google has long introduced a 'Wait for me' feature that allows Google Assistant to stand by in your place when a caller puts you on hold. However, it seems that the sudden change of the voice on the other end from a human to a machine voice confuses the person on the other end of the call, and when an editorial staff member actually tried ``Wait for me,'' the person who released the hold went to Google Assistant. I could hear a voice desperately talking to me.
'Hold for Me' function, which eliminates the need to wait while listening to the phone's hold tone, is now available on Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a (5G) - GIGAZINE
In ``Wait for me'', it is the user's responsibility to make the call, but Talk to a Live Representative makes the call on the user's behalf, making it even more convenient.
