There have been many reports of communication-related issues with the Pixel series, and according to Android Authority, 60% of Pixel 7/8 users surveyed said they had encountered the problem.
The Exynos Modem 5400 is faster and more power efficient than previous generation modems, and supports 3GPP Release 17 , enabling satellite-based communications.
On the OS side, it has already been confirmed that Android 15 will include a satellite messaging service.

The satellite-based communications capability will be provided by T-Mobile, which is building the network in collaboration with SpaceX, but additional service providers may be added in the future.
The satellite communication function is basically for sending and receiving text messages and does not support calls. By using the 'Satellite Gateway' app, you can make emergency calls via satellite using the Emergency SOS function.
Satellite communications are expected to be available not only on the Pixel 9 series, but also on the upcoming Pixel Fold and Pixel Tablet.
