Pixel users can type *#*#7287#*#* on their phone to launch the self-diagnosis app to diagnose whether their smartphone is working properly. The app includes a complete diagnostic test that can detect issues with the entire device, as well as the option to individually test for physical defects and issues that affect your smartphone's display, sensors, and connectivity. However, at the time of article creation, this diagnostic tool is only available in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and Europe.
By starting the repair app and switching to repair mode, your personal data will be protected even when you send your device to a repair shop or bring it in for service, so your privacy will be protected.
In addition, manuals are distributed for Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, and Pixel Fold to help you repair them yourself. The manual is all in English, but it includes pictures of the tools you need and how to use them.
Google has partnered with iFixit, and you can purchase the tools and genuine spare parts you need to repair your Pixel yourself at iFixit. Compatible devices are Google Pixel 2 and later, Pixel Fold, and Pixel Tablet, and the compatible regions are the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and Europe.
