According to information released by former Pentagon official David Grusch, the U.S. government, its allies, or defense companies have destroyed a wide variety of vehicles, ranging from partially shredded to intact, from decades ago to the present day. Mr. Grush is a decorated former combat officer for his service in Afghanistan and a veteran of the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA) and National Reconnaissance Office (NRO). From 2019 to 2021, he served as the Reconnaissance Director of the Unidentified Aeronautical Phenomenon Task Force, and from late 2021 to July 2022, he served as Co-Director and Task Force Representative of the NGA's UAP analysis.
This task force was established to investigate what was once called 'Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs)' and later 'Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAPs)'. The task force was led by the Navy under the Department of Defense's Office of the Undersecretary for Intelligence and Security, and was later reorganized and expanded into the 'Full Domain Anomaly Resolution Office', which also included investigations of underwater objects.
According to Grusch, information about unidentified vehicles reported by various parties has been hidden without being reported to the appropriate regulators. Concerned about this, Mr. Grusch secretly provided confidential information related to the concealed information to the Pentagon inspector general, but at that time he provided his identity and information. The facts have leaked out somewhere, and Mr. Grusch seems to have received unfair retaliation and harassment on this matter. He has filed a lawsuit alleging that 'information has been illegally withheld from Congress and that he has been unlawfully retaliated against for disclosure of secrets.'
During his tenure in government, Mr. Grusch drafted many drafts of the UAP for Congress and, with the help of Senators Kirsten Gillibrand and Marco Rubio, drafted the UAP language for the 2023 National Defense Authorization Act, which was drafted by 2022. I helped get it signed into law by President Biden in December 2012. The provision allows anyone with relevant UAP information to report to Congress without reprisal, regardless of past non-disclosure agreements.
However, as Grusch faced retaliation for pursuing an investigation into the UAP, Grusch claimed that he 'received concerns about a number of wrongdoings, including illegal contracts in violation of federal procurement regulations, crime, and the suppression of information across academia.' . Grusch retired from the government on April 7, 2023 to fulfill the government's accountability through raising public awareness, leading to this lawsuit.
Grusch will be represented by Charles McCullough III, a senior partner at law firm Compass Rose Legal Group and the first Inspector General of the Intelligence Community, who was confirmed by the Senate in 2011. Legal proceedings will follow, with the law protecting whistleblowers at issue.
