An associate's degree is a degree-equivalent title that can be obtained from a four-year university or two-year community college, and programs are generally completed within two years. Although grade-skipping is more common in the United States than in Japan, earning five associate's degrees at just 12 years old is an amazing feat, and various media outlets have interviewed Han and her mother.
You can watch an interview with Han and his mother in the YouTube video below.

The boy being interviewed is Han, who graduated from Fullerton College at just 12 years old with five associate degrees, including 'History,' 'Social Science,' 'Social Behavior and Personal Development,' 'Arts and Human Expression,' and 'Science and Mathematics.'

Han has always been curious and loved studying since he was a child, but he was bored with the public school curriculum in 2019 when he was in the second grade of elementary school. So his mother, Song Choi, who has worked as a private tutor for over 20 years, decided to send her son Han to the local Fullerton College.

Han's classmates at Fullerton College often ask him, 'How old are you and why are you here?' to which he responds, 'I'm 12 years old and I'm taking classes with you.'

Han was born 27 weeks prematurely and weighed less than 2 pounds (about 900g) at birth. However, he has grown remarkably well since then and is now a normal boy who enjoys basketball and archery in addition to his studies.

He also said that he has traveled to 23 countries with his family, and that his favorite is Egypt, home to the Great Pyramids of Giza.

Her mother, Choi, remembers that Han is still a child and often tells her to stop studying and relax.

In an interview, Han commented, 'I study a lot so that I can do various things before I can play,' and 'I always tell myself, 'I can do it, I can keep going.''

Han plans to continue attending Fullerton College for one more year to earn an associate's degree in autonomous systems development, and once he's ready to transfer, he plans to attend Stanford University or the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to earn a bachelor's degree.

In addition to his studies, he is also a
