◆ Making of the top image of 'Gasya de~su!!'
First of all, I created four rough drafts based on the concept of 'a manga announcement illustration that will be a horizontally long top image'. The following rough plan A is a modified version of the rough that was created for the cover art of the first episode. Here is a detailed explanation of the making of the frontispiece for Episode 1. According to the author, Higoto Mainichi, 'I drew the four characters in the first episode, 'Hoshimi Life Equipment', who are expected to become the main characters in the future from the reader's point of view. In addition to being conscious of posing in a way that makes it possible to read the character's personality, I put pictures of gas appliances in the background so that you can tell that it is a manga with a gas station as its theme. I put a film-like frame in it.'
Plan B is a rough with a strong impression of a gas cylinder. Mainichi ``This is a plan with less information on the screen than plan A. I only drew the main character, Kyu, and drew only the gas cylinder, which is synonymous with the gas shop. Also, by holding a gas cylinder that is aware of dangerous objects, you can see that Kiyu is close to Gus and that he is a lively and friendly character. I'm assuming
Rough plan C is a composition that looks like a group photo taken by colleagues at the company with a bust-up. Mainichi ``It is a proposal that puts more weight on Kyu being a ``newcomer to the gas store'' rather than rough draft A. Arranged.The characters on both sides are in intelligent poses, emphasizing that Kiyu is a beginner.Since there are few parts that can be identified as a gas shop manga, gas is attached to various things that Kiyu is holding. Kiyu is rough plan C, other characters and backgrounds are rough plan A, and rough plan D is a combination. Every day, 'I created it with the intention of having the best of Plan A and Plan C, but when I created it, I had the impression that the film part of the background would be less noticeable.'
I decided on rough plan A, which conveys a sense of dynamism and brightness and gives a strong impression of fun. In the rough draft, Iga-senpai's feet are a little cut off, which makes him stand out. Now that the rough has been decided, I will move on to the line drawing process. Every day, 'I was able to draw the rough draft surprisingly well, so I just made a few corrections and immediately started inking the characters. By separating each character on a separate layer, it's easier to use for announcements and the like. increase'
Every day I color the character. If I add too many shadows, it becomes noisy, so I keep it understated, and add slanted lines in the shadows to give it an analog look. Did'
Everyday 'In the background, I made a film-like frame for a camera, then drew gas cylinders, gas appliances, work patterns, Hoshimi's office, and text-like gas qualifications. As it is, the background is too loud and I have a fight with the character, so I adjusted it in sepia color at the finishing stage.”
After the characters and backgrounds were completed, I compared 'borders' and 'shadows'. Below are the proposals of ``no character border'', ``thin white border on character'', and ``thick white border on character'' in order from the left, and arranged them side by side. When I compared it, without the border, it blended into the background and gave an overall dark impression. has been adopted.
We are also comparing and examining the darkness of the shadows cast on the characters. ◆ Application for drawing, name composition, drawing help
・ How to apply for “drawing only”:
All you have to do is show us your portfolio URL and collection of works on the Manga Award application form . In the 'Others' column, please write 'Apply for drawing only'. There is no limit on the number of illustrations and manga for portfolios, and there is no line that says you need more than one, but the more you have, the easier it is to get a good evaluation.
・ How to apply for 'Name Composition Manager'

◆Original script application requirements
・In addition to the first episode manuscript , please prepare the plot (synopsis) from the first episode to the final episode . For the synopsis, please describe the flow of the entire work in detail on the first page of the manuscript in 100 to 800 characters.
・In the first judging, we will look at the fun of a simple story and the completeness of one story. If you proceed from the second screening to the final screening, we will judge whether you can consistently create a storyline script up to the final episode, with an awareness of actually creating a manga original.
