Twitter CEO Elon Musk and Spotify CEO Daniel Ek criticized the guidelines of the App Store, the official app store operated by Apple.

On April 29, 2023, CEO Elon Musk announced that Twitter's subscription feature was available worldwide, saying, ``Be careful, Twitter on the web and iPhone (Twitter on iOS). There will be a difference of a few days until the subscription feature is activated, because all subscriptions must be approved by Apple, ”he tweeted, adding that the subscription feature on Twitter for iOS was approved by Apple. I revealed that the release will be a little late to receive. This is because Twitter must follow Apple's App Store Review guidelines in order to make Twitter's subscription functionality available through the Twitter app for iOS.

In addition, Spotify's CEO Ek quoted Mr. Musk's tweet, saying, 'This is ridiculous ... What if every platform on the Internet [collected a fee] for every creator? Or , What if the platform deems the appropriate fee to be 0% or 10% instead of Apple's 30%?' Tweeted, the fee that Apple imposes on third-party apps in the App Store (30% of sales) criticized for being too expensive.
