◆Manifest V3 is enabled by default
With this upgrade, Manifest V3 (MV3) will be enabled by default, but the older MV2 will still be available.
This also brings with it a change to the user interface, integrating the extension buttons .

Through this extension button you will be able to manage permissions for individual extensions.
◆Improved accessibility of the date picker
The native HTML date picker for date and datetime input can now be used with just the keyboard, improving accessibility for screen reader users so that users with limited mobility can interact with the calendar grid and month selection spinner using common keyboard shortcuts.
◆Improved operation method on macOS
On macOS, Cmd + Trackpad and Cmd + Mouse Wheel actions have been changed from zooming to scrolling the page. This is to prevent accidental zooming when you want to scroll, and also matches the behavior of other browsers such as Safari and Chrome. If you want to revert to zooming with these actions, set mousewheel.with_control.action and mousewheel.with_meta.actionprefs to '3' in about:config .
◆Improved security in Windows environments
Arbitrary Code Guard exploit protection is now enabled for media playback utility processes to improve security in Windows environments.
*Addition of languages supported by spell checker
Firefox builds for the Spanish (es-ES and es-AR) locales now come with a built-in dictionary for the spell checker.
◆Colorways limited release has ended
The time-limited Colorways feature has been removed from Firefox 106. If you have any active Colorways saved, you can still access them via the 'Add-ons and Themes' menu option.
◆Added features to Firefox View
The 'Recently Closed Tabs' section of Firefox View now allows users to manually close or remove URL links from the list. Also, the tab pickup in the 'Tabs from Other Devices' section and the empty status messages and graphic components displayed in the 'Recently Closed Tabs' section have been updated to improve the user experience.
Firefox 109 also includes 10 security bug fixes .
The next major version, Firefox 110, is scheduled to be released on February 14, 2023 local time.
