'Firefox 106' official release, text extraction function added in images
The official version of the web browser 'Firefox 106' has been released. At the time of writing the article, a number of functions that are likely to be touched directly by users, such as the addition of a function to extract text in images while limited to macOS, have been introduced.

We've made it easier to access private windows by allowing you to pin them to the Windows 10 and Windows 11 taskbar. The private windows themselves have also been redesigned for a greater sense of privacy.

◆Addition of Colorways
The launch of the Independent Voices collection introduces 18 new Colorways . You can now access the 'Colorways' modal experience through Firefox View. Each new color comes with a bespoke graphic and text explaining its deeper meaning. The collection will be available until January 16, 2023.
◆ Functional enhancement of the built-in PDF viewer
The built-in PDF viewer now supports PDF editing such as writing text, drawing, and adding signatures. Also, if Firefox is set as the default browser in Windows system settings, the PDF viewer will be the default PDF application.
◆Addition of navigation operation on Wayland
When using Wayland on Linux, swipe-to-navigate operations (swipe left and right with two fingers on the touchpad to move forward and backward through history) are now supported.
◆ Upgrading WebRTC
A major upgrade to the WebRTC functionality (libwebrtc library updated to version 103) brings a number of improvements.
