'Firefox 108' official release, support ICCv4 profile



The official version of the web browser 'Firefox 108' has been released. In addition to supporting color correction of images with ICCv4 profiles, various functional improvements have been added.

◆ ICCv4 profile
Added support for proper color correction for images tagged with ICCv4 profiles.

When viewed with a browser that supports the ICCv4 profile, the check image will be displayed in natural colors overall.



When viewed with an unsupported browser, color correction by the ICCv4 profile cannot be used, resulting in unnatural colors in the upper half of the image.



◆Import map
'Import maps' are now enabled by default, allowing web pages to control their behavior regarding JavaScript imports.

◆ Process manager shortcut
The 'Shift' + 'ESC' keyboard shortcut now opens the process manager , allowing you to quickly identify processes that are using too many resources.



◆Compatible with efficiency mode of Windows 11
When running on Windows 11, it is now possible to reduce resource usage by applying

efficiency mode to background tab processes.



◆ Improved frame scheduling
Improved frame scheduling under heavy load. This significantly improves Firefox's MotionMark score.

◆ Improved bookmark toolbar
The default 'only visible in new tabs' state of the Bookmarks Toolbar now works correctly in blank new tabs. It is also possible to make this behavior the same as before via the toolbar context menu.

◆ Improved PDF forms
Improved handling of non-ASCII characters when saving and printing PDF forms.

◆ Web MIDI API support
We now support the Web MIDI API by introducing a new experimental mechanism to control access to dangerous features : the Site Permissions Addon .

Firefox 108 also includes eight security bug fixes .

The next major version, 'Firefox 109', will be released on January 17, 2023, local time.
