Review of 'ATOM Cam Swing', a compact Wi-Fi surveillance camera with full functions such as horizontal 360 degree & vertical 180 degree swing, night vision, waterproofing, etc.



On December 7, 2021, Yokohama-based Atom Tech released 'ATOM Cam Swing, ' which allows you to check images from your smartphone via Wi-Fi.

Following the 'ATOM Cam 2 ', which is packed with convenient functions such as waterproofing, night-vision camera, and motion detection at a compact body and outstanding cost performance, the new model of the ATOM series is horizontal due to the twin cube configuration with the camera unit and support part separated. It is said that it has realized a 360-degree and 180-degree vertical range of motion and a high-speed swing function. I received such an ATOM Cam Swing, so I took pictures of the evolved smart home camera from all angles.

Power adapter.



The flat power cord makes it easy to pass through narrow spaces. The power cord is a USB Type-A cable that connects to the power adapter, and a micro USB Type-B USB cable that connects to the ATOM Cam Swing, but it cannot be used for data communication because it is for charging only.



The length of the power cord is 1.8 meters.



The dimensions of ATOM Cam Swing are 122.5 mm in height x 53 mm in width x 53 mm in depth and are palm-sized.



The structure is such that the upper camera unit and the lower support unit are connected by the arm on the right side.



Seen from the left side, it looks like this.



The upper cube is a camera unit, and the angle can be changed up and down.



There is a status light above the lens and a microphone below.



There is a reset button and a microSD card slot on the bottom of the camera unit.



Looking at the back of the support unit under the camera, there was a speaker.



The bottom of the support unit looks like this. There are screw holes for fixing to a tripod, etc., and an outlet for connecting a power cord.



The bottom is designed to rotate.

The camera unit of ATOM Cam Swing can face straight up.



You can also look straight down to prevent the camera from seeing anything when you switch to privacy mode.



In addition, the bottom rotates horizontally so you can see directly behind. Thanks to this 360-degree horizontal and 180-degree vertical range of motion, ATOM Cam Swing ensures a field of view with no blind spots.
