Apple plans to release iOS 14 in the fall of 2020, with the privacy policy expected to be revised for iOS 14. Due to this policy change, in iOS 14, unless the user allows it, the application will not be able to collect and share the advertising identifier IDFA of Apple terminal. Since the advertising identifier is used for behavioral targeting advertisements (targeted advertisements) that infer interest based on the user's behavior history, Facebook, which develops advertising business based on targeted advertisements, said, ``Advertisers can efficiently conduct campaigns. Not only will it disappear, but advertising revenue for publishers and app developers will decrease.'

Apple's policy change is thought to hurt not only publishers and developers but also revenue of Facebook, which operates an advertisement distribution business, and Facebook is dissatisfied with Apple who changed specifications without consulting ad networks including Facebook I made it public.

Responding to such dissatisfaction, Apple notified developers on September 3, 2020, to delay the revision of privacy rules. The notifications from Apple are as follows.

'On iOS 14, iPadOS 14, and tvOS 14, apps must receive 'permits to be tracked by other companies/access to advertising identifiers' from users. Users can choose to track from the app So, we're doing our best to ensure that the app developers need to get their permission from the beginning of next year to give app developers time to make the necessary changes. More information can be found in the App Store review guidelines, which will be updated this fall.''

Up until now, it was said that “the app must get permission from the user regarding the advertising identifier” at the same time as the release of iOS 14, but that period has been postponed until at least 2021.

Apple said to the technology media, The Verge, 'We believe technology should protect the user's underlying right to privacy. 'Is our data shared with others for advertising?' and the tools to revoke tracking permissions.' 'We make the necessary changes to developers. We're hoping that we'll give you all that time, and as a result, the tracking authorization feature will be available early next year,' he said.
