A new fashion style is emerging that emphasizes fat rather than hiding it.

It is common for fashion to ``hide'' parts of one's body that one does not like, but behind the act of ``hiding'' there is an awareness that there are ``flaws'' in one's body. In light of the current situation where people often have a negative body image due to the influence of social media, a new style of fashion has emerged that intentionally shows and emphasizes parts of the body that were previously hidden.

Karoline Vitto, a Brazilian-born and raised fashion designer, says that it wasn't until she started living in the UK that she was able to have a good relationship with her body. In order to review the body image he had always had while in Brazil, Mr. Vitto first started taking photos wearing a waist-creating corset that he purchased in Brazil. Corsets are originally intended to make your body look slimmer, but if you forcefully press down on only one part of your torso, flesh will protrude in other areas. For this reason, special bras and underwear are required to smooth the curves of the body.

Focusing on this point, Mr. Vitto decided to show the ``suppressed and protruding flesh'' that he had previously thought should be hidden.

This is one of Mr. Vitto's favorite works. The black dress wrapped in stretchy material leaves some of her skin exposed, and by suppressing the flesh with metal and stretchy material, it actually emphasizes the fleshiness.

When you look at the dress you are wearing from a different angle, it looks like this.

Also, by using rectangular metal, you can emphasize the meat...

She also likes dresses that emphasize the flesh on her back.

There's also a garter belt that emphasizes your thighs.

A dress that crushes your chest.

Various materials are purposely wrapped around it to emphasize the flesh of the back.

This is how a dress is made with a torso. In addition to wrapping cotton around the torso to recreate the sensation of flesh, the dress is created using multiple stretchable materials and metals.

This is the metal used. This brass is also created by hand.

'The pressure to be beautiful is something that affects many, if not all, women. I'm not saying this is the solution or everyone's story. Body acceptance is very important. 'It's a personal matter, but with this collection I'm proposing an easy way to reconsider body parts that we've traditionally considered 'flaws',' says Vitto.

In recent years, many brands have taken steps to promote a more positive body image. In 2019, NIKE caused controversy when it introduced 'large-sized mannequins' to its London flagship store.

“Many brands are becoming concerned about stereotypes, which means not only more diversity on the runway, but also more clothing sizes to choose from and more body types in advertising. However, I do not agree that having a positive view of the body has become a 'fashion'.Body image is not a trend, but something we designers should consider when designing.' Vitto said.
