'USB cable with back door' with built-in Wi-Fi module in USB cable connector appeared

A USB cable capable of remotely controlling a PC with a built-in Wi-Fi microcontroller in the connector that seems to be even worried even by a person who says "Do not know what is on the strange USB flash memory" It appeared. It seems to be difficult to notice beforehand that "something is wrong" because there is no change in appearance at all.

This "O.MG Cable" was produced by Mr. _MG_ with the help of his colleagues. A movie about how it is actually made and what kind of action it will do is released.

Mr. _ MG _ has been a person who has created various USB devices for some time, and in 2017 he began trying "embedding" on the USB cable.

Using a 3D printer and a copper plate, we created a smaller Wi-Fi compatible PCB (printed circuit board) than coins.

As for how small it is, it fits perfectly in the USB Type - A connector.

This was completed "O.MG Cable". It looks only as a genuine Apple USB-Lightning cable.

Set the cable in Macbook and you are ready.

Connect to O.MG Cable via Wi-Fi. By opening the dedicated application using a remote control, I opened a login page with a browser. It looks like Google's login screen, but since it is a phishing site to steal ID, password, it is tough to enter information carelessly.

Mr. _ MG _ challenged from a place not having the technology to make this cable, and completed the cable after 300 hours and 4000 dollars (about 440,000 yen) was spent. This example is shown as a demonstration to the last, but it is probably very difficult to notice when these cables are actually circulated around the world. Now that the USB cable can be purchased not only at home electronics mass merchandisers but also at convenience stores and 100 yen shops, it seems that it has become an era when you have to be careful as to whether the USB cable can be trusted.
