'Fortnite,' a popular battle royale action game in which players build walls and floors and fight until they are the last man standing, is distributed by Epic Games on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and iOS as of August 2018. Until now, the mobile version was only available on iOS, and the Android version was 'scheduled for release.' On August 10, 2018, Tim Sweeney, founder of Epic Games, appeared at the Samsung event ' Galaxy UNPACKED 2018 ' held in New York and announced that the Android version of 'Fortnite' would be released in advance on Galaxy devices.

At the same time as the announcement, a video was also released announcing the release of the Android beta version of 'Fortnite.'

Supported devices are Samsung Galaxy S7, S7 Edge, S8, S8+, S9, S9+, Note 8, Note 9, Tab S3, and Tab S4. Pre-orders for the Galaxy Note9 have already begun overseas, but if you pre-order the Note9, you can get AKG noise-canceling headphones or 15,000 V-bucks in-game currency (13,500 V-bucks can be purchased for 11,800 yen). In addition, purchasers can get the original costume 'Galaxy'.

This is only a beta version, so only Samsung Galaxy devices are eligible, but other devices will be supported in the future. To receive an invitation to the beta version, you need to register on the waiting list and register your invitation email address from the following page.

According to

estimates by marketing research firm Sensor Tower, Epic Games is estimated to have earned $25 million (approximately 2.8 billion yen) in sales in the first month after the iOS version of 'Fortnite' was released, making it a huge success. Android accounts for approximately 80% of smartphone OS market share worldwide, so the release of the Android version will only accelerate the momentum of 'Fortnite.'

According to an Epic Games spokesperson, Fortnite will only be available on Galaxy devices for a few days, and will be released on other Android devices before the release of the Galaxy Note 9, so there's no need to wait long.
