I tried using the 'Udon Book' that allows you to keep detailed data about your own udon noodles.

'Udon book ' is a notebook dedicated to udon made by

the creator group 'Setouchi Kogeizu ' in Kagawa prefecture, which is famous for Sanuki udon. From my experience of eating authentic Sanuki udon, I actually tried using a udon book made under the concept of 'a notebook that allows you to keep the udon you ate as data'.

This time, I bought 'Kimidori' from the udon book.

I took it out of the bag.

The cover of the udon book has udon printed on the entire surface, which is the image of the waves in Setouchi.

The surface is smooth to the touch.

The udon book is a ring type, but it is attached diagonally so that you can write while eating .

The size is 128 x 182 mm. Because it is compact, it seems to fit in a small bag.

The udon book has 50 sheets and 100 pages.

When you open the cover, it looks like this.

On the back of the cover, 'Self-Udon Shop Beginner's Tips' is written.

There is a lot of information that seems to be useful for beginners of self-made udon shops, such as 'Don't block the conductors in a small shop'.

In addition, 'Udon terminology' is listed on the back of the back cover with explanations.

Explains udon terms that you don't know because you know the meaning of 'kake' and 'raw soy sauce'.

This is the page where you can write udon information.

From top to bottom, 'date and time', 'weather', 'store name', 'business style', 'address', 'business hours', 'regular holidays' ...

Items such as 'Udon eaten', 'Number of balls', 'Amount', 'Overview', 'Atmosphere', 'Taste', 'Noodles', and 'Dashi' are lined up.

'Overview' is evaluated by the number of bowls in 5 stages. The 'atmosphere' can be evaluated by the shop, and the 'taste' can be evaluated by the chopsticks. Also, it is a cute point that you can evaluate the 'seasoning' and 'flavor' of the noodles by simmering the 'thickness' and 'type' of the noodles.

At the bottom of the page is a space where you can write a 'sketch' and a comment.

Since the udon book has 100 pages, it is possible to record up to 100 udon shops in the data.

So, in order to actually eat udon and leave it in the data, I came to Hankyu Soba Wakana, which offers a novel menu such as 'pote soba / udon' with potatoes.

When you enter the store and place an order, write down the 'date and time', 'weather', 'store name', etc. before the udon arrives.

This time I ordered 'Kitsune Udon'. The number of balls is '1' and the 'amount' is 350 yen.

When I was writing in the udon book, the kitsune udon was brought in.

While eating udon slurping ...

Apply the 'thickness' and 'type' of the noodles, and the 'seasoning' and 'flavor' of the soup stock.

Furthermore, 'general comment' and ...

Evaluate 'atmosphere' and 'taste'.

Udon restaurants rotate quickly, so it can be difficult to take time to write while eating. In such a case, you can draw a line or add a mark so that you can write it later.

When it is difficult to sketch in the store, such as when it is crowded or you do not have time, you can take a picture with your smartphone and slowly draw a sketch of udon later.

You can draw your own sketches. If you write a comment or impression in the comment field on the right side, the conversion of udon into data is complete.

The 'Udon Book' is not only cute in appearance, but also easy to turn pages and write udon information in detail, making it a highly practical notebook that makes you feel the developer's commitment. This is a must-have item when you go to Kagawa prefecture.

At the time of writing the article, both Udon and Kiiro were out of stock. The price is 594 yen including tax, and the shipping fee is 700 yen.
