"Google Spreadsheet" haste review

A limited test of the web based online spreadsheet service "Google Spreadsheet" started, but I immediately tried using it. It is possible to input Japanese properly, and it was possible to read an existing Excel file.

Below, more details.
It seems that we can participate in the test on a first-come-first-served basis, first of all from here.

Welcome to Google Spreadsheets (Limited Test)

It is enough if you enter a Google Account already created. A mail with the subject "Your invitation to try Google Spreadsheets" comes, so you can join by accessing the address written in the body.

This screen

Immediately after logging in, the atmosphere looks like Excel

Initially, several unit formats of each cell are also prepared

Sort is also possible

A function used for calculation is also provided with Iroiro

In addition to saving the created file online, it can be downloaded and saved in Excel or CSV format. You can also convert it to HTML format.

If you choose "Open", you can upload and open a file in Excel or CSV format

Click "Browse", select the file to open, then click "Open now"

In this way I was able to open properly even the Excel format file mixed with Japanese

You can input by clicking on the cell, Japanese is also OK. Since the shortcut keys are basically the same, you can also press the F2 key to make it editable, move to the bottom cell with the Enter key after entering, or move to the next cell with Tab key

Enter "=" in the cell, click the cell of "A2", and click on the "B2" cell to automatically enter it. This area is exactly the same as Excel, so if you are familiar you can use it immediately

However, it is regrettable or natural, there is no graph making function. Since it has truly basic functions, it's rather like an impression like spreadsheet software specialized for handling CSV files. It does not completely replace Excel, but it seems to be sufficient for practical use if it is about numerical input. I do not know how far cell input is possible, but what about huge file handling ... ...
