SpaceXAI is stepping up its plans for an AI system operating in space in collaboration with NVIDIA, and has also announced a large-scale deployment of NVIDIA's Vera CPU for AI agents.



It has been revealed that NVIDIA's Vera CPU will be deployed on a large scale by SpaceX AI. Furthermore, plans are underway to launch an AI system based on the Vera Rubin NVL72 into orbit by 2027.

Vera is a CPU specifically designed for processing AI agents, and it features 88 'Olympus cores' that NVIDIA has designed in-house. Tests conducted by technology media outlet Phoronix showed that it outperformed AMD's EPYC and Intel's Xeon, and 'Vera Rubin,' which combines it with the AI-oriented GPU 'Rubin,' is expected to improve the processing power of AI data centers.

According to NVIDIA, SpaceX AI will accelerate the development of 'next-generation agent-based AI workloads' by deploying Vera on a large scale. They will also extend the AI infrastructure that handles Grok processing with Vera Rubin.

Furthermore, NVIDIA and SpaceXAI are developing a system optimized for space based on the rack-scale system 'Vera Rubin NVL72,' and are planning to deploy it in orbit aboard the 'Starmind' satellite. According to Elon Musk, Starmind is scheduled to launch in the fourth quarter of 2027, with a significant scale-up planned for 2028.




SpaceX also submitted an application to the Federal Communications Commission in January 2026 seeking permission for its 'plan to launch one million AI data center satellites.'
