Microsoft says August Windows updates may cause gaming issues
KB5121003 was a version that fixed over 400 vulnerabilities and included updates to Secure Boot, improvements to File Explorer and Windows Search, and more.

Immediately after the release of this version, users reported crashing issues in some games. Embark Studios, the developers of ARC Raiders and The Finals, investigated the problem and pointed out that 'the update caused a loss of compatibility with the kernel driver inpoutx64.sys.' They advised that the problem could be avoided by deleting inpoutx64.sys.
Later, Microsoft acknowledged the problem and pointed out that the following symptoms were occurring in some games.
- The game freezes.
- The game may end without notice.
- An 'EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION' error occurs.
- The system restarts without warning.
They stated they are 'investigating whether this issue is attributable to Microsoft' and urged users to report any problems they encounter through the Feedback Hub.
In addition, it has been reported that Windows Hello is experiencing issues such as 'the need to re-register PIN authentication information every time the computer is restarted' and 'the inability of Windows to load existing Windows Hello containers.'
