X is ending its 'creator revenue sharing' program and launching an 'original content rewards program.'

It has been revealed that X's 'Revenue Sharing' program, which has been running since July 2023, will be ending and replaced by the 'Original Content Rewards Program.' New registrations for 'Revenue Sharing' have already been stopped, and the last day for participants to receive their earnings has been set for September 7, 2026.

On August 7, 2026 (local time), X's creator team announced the launch of its 'Original Content Rewards Program.' According to the team, the program is 'a new mechanism to reward creators who bring unique ideas, expertise, information, creativity, and commentary to X,' and is designed to recognize creators who are worth checking X every day.

Creators eligible for the program can earn revenue from active impressions generated by their original content. Payments will be made every two weeks, provided the account and content continue to meet the program requirements. The first payment is due on August 28, 2026.

The existing 'Creator Revenue Sharing' program will be discontinued and replaced by the 'Original Content Rewards Program.' Eligible creators will continue to receive revenue until September 7, 2026, with payments made on August 14th and 28th, and a final payment scheduled for around September 11th. Applications for the 'Original Content Rewards Program' from 'Creator Revenue Sharing' participants will begin on September 8, 2026, and the first payment for accepted applications will be on September 25, 2026.

Regarding 'valid impressions,' which are a revenue source for the 'Original Content Rewards Program,' the creator team defines them as 'unique impressions recorded by premium users when more than 50% of the post is displayed on the home timeline feed.' Multiple impressions from the same account for a single post, as well as purchased, promoted, artificially generated, and fraudulent impressions, are invalid.

The following eight conditions must be met to participate:

1. Must be 18 years of age or older.
2. You must reside in a country where the 'Original Content Rewards Program' is available.
3. The account is in good condition and has no history of repeatedly violating X's monetization criteria or terms of service.
4. You must have a personal or business account.
5. You must be subscribed to one of the following X Premium plans: 'Premium,' 'Premium Plus,' or 'Premium Business.'
6. The verified (badged) user has more than 500 followers.
7. You must have received more than 500,000 home timeline impressions from verified users in the past 90 days (replies are not counted).
8. Regularly posting original content.

If you meet the requirements, you can apply through 'Original Content Rewards' in the 'Creator Studio' menu.

The following accounts are not subscribed to X Premium, so the 'Original Content Rewards' section shows 'Not Eligible.'

Applications will be reviewed within 3 business days, and you will be notified of the results. If your application is not approved, you may appeal once. Even if your appeal is rejected, you can reapply after 90 days, provided you continue to meet the requirements.
