'What is the most widely used programming language?' We conducted a survey of GIGAZINE readers, and also included a ranking of programming languages that people want to learn in the future.



GIGAZINE conducts

a prize giveaway survey three times a year. Through this survey, we investigated the programming languages that GIGAZINE readers use regularly and created a 'Ranking of Programming Languages Popular Among GIGAZINE Readers.'

The following are the results of asking survey respondents, 'Do you program?' Approximately 33% of survey respondents had programming experience, while approximately 67% had no programming experience.



The following are the results of a survey asking experienced programmers, 'Which programming languages/markup languages do you use most often? (Multiple selections allowed).' The most popular programming language/markup language is

Python , with a significant gap in user numbers compared to other languages. The next most popular languages are JavaScript (2nd) and HTML (3rd), again with a large gap in user numbers compared to languages ranked 4th and below.

(Multiple selections allowed)' and the results are as follows. Excluding those who answered 'None in particular,' the most frequently mentioned language as one people want to learn in the future was

Rust , followed by Python. Rust ranks 24th in terms of users, but it is very popular as a language people want to learn in the future.
