California-based robotics startup

Weave Robotics has announced ' Isaac 1, ' a home robot capable of doing laundry, tidying up, and making beds. The robot is not fully autonomous and requires human assistance through remote control. It will be available for $7,999 (approximately 1.29 million yen) or $449 (approximately 72,000 yen) per month.

Weave Robotics announced its first home robot, 'Isaac 0,' in February 2026. Isaac 0 has a fairly basic design, with a fixed base, a slender body, and two rotating cameras mounted on its head. It is a robot specifically designed for folding laundry; simply place unsorted laundry on a table and it will neatly fold it in 30 to 90 minutes. It does not operate completely autonomously, but rather combines autonomy with remote control. It can handle shirts and shorts autonomously, but for trousers and underwear, a human needs to remotely control the robot's arms through the camera.

Based on feedback received from the Isaac 0, which was provided as an 'early release prototype,' the next-generation model, 'Isaac 1,' was announced. The Isaac 1 has a more rounded design than the Isaac 0, particularly in its head and arms. Its body can now move around the house, and it can not only fold laundry but also tidy up and make beds, and its height can be extended from 0.9m to 1.75m depending on the task.

While Isaac 0 could only fold laundry that was fixed in front of it, Isaac 1 can also take the laundry out and move it.

Additionally, a new tidying-up function has been added.

You can also perform simple bed-making tasks. Each task can be done from your smartphone.

Once the activity is finished, it returns to the base and begins charging. According to the official website, a 2-hour charge provides 8 hours of operation.

Weave Robotics also stated that they will continue to enhance the functionality of Isaac 1 through firmware updates. Although the functionality has been improved from Isaac 0, Isaac 1 will still provide remote assistance as needed to ensure that tasks are completed successfully.

The Isaac 1 comes in five colors: a greenish 'Sage,' 'Gray,' 'Slate Blue,' a reddish-brown 'Terracotta,' and a dark purple 'Vesper.' The price is the same as the Isaac 0, at $7,999 (approximately 1.29 million yen) for a one-time purchase or $449 (approximately 72,000 yen) per month. Deliveries to California are scheduled to begin in the fall of 2026, with nationwide sales planned to start in 2027.
