CXMT is a memory manufacturer founded in 2016, developing DDR5 and LPDDR5X memory modules. They have already successfully developed a DDR5 memory module with a maximum speed of 8000Mbps and are setting up production capabilities with a view to expanding into desktop and notebook PCs.

According to overseas media outlet Wccftech, several memory vendors are currently testing CXMT's DDR5 memory modules. Most PC memory modules are manufactured by three companies: Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron. Of these, Micron has announced a halt to shipments of consumer memory. Therefore, CXMT's entry into the market is expected to bring about changes in the memory market.

There had been rumors circulating that CXMT memory modules were 'cheaper than those of other companies.' However, Wccftech has received testimony from multiple memory vendors stating that 'CXMT memory modules are not that cheap and are roughly equivalent to those of Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron.' However, unlike the other three companies, CXMT does not have a strategy of 'prioritizing products for AI data centers,' which gives PC memory vendors the advantage of being able to secure a large number of modules.
According to Wccftech, CXMT memory modules will be used in entry-level products and will initially be launched in the Chinese market. After that, they are planned to gradually expand to the global market.
Furthermore, South Korean prosecutors are investigating CXMT on suspicion that it 'poached former Samsung executives and developed memory based on confidential information provided by those executives,' and in December 2025, 10 former Samsung executives were indicted.
