A taste test review of 'Maruchan Dekamaru Barishaki! Spicy Bean Sprout Miso Ramen Extra Spicy,' where the crisp texture of the bean sprouts is so pleasant that you'll want another spiciness.

Toyo Suisan's 'Dekamaru' series, which is based on the concept of satisfying both taste and volume, has added a new product, ' Maruchan Dekamaru Barishaki! Spicy Bean Sprout Miso Ramen Extra Spicy,' a super spicy version of their regular product 'Bean Sprout Miso Ramen, ' which was released on April 27th, 2026 (Monday). I bought it and tried it.

The packaging looks like this. A prominent yellow warning label reads, 'Extremely spicy! Please be careful if you don't like spicy food!'

The ingredients are as follows. The spiciness seems to come from 'spices,' 'flavoring oils,' and 'spice extracts,' but it's unclear what specific spices are used.

One serving (150g) contains 544kcal and 7g of salt.

When you open the lid, you'll find three small packets inside: 'prepared bean sprouts,' 'powdered soup,' and 'liquid soup.' The seasoned minced meat and green onions are already on top of the noodles.

First, I opened the bean sprout seasoning and powder soup packets and added them. After opening the powder soup packet, I felt a tingling sensation in my nose.

Pour in hot water and wait 3 minutes. Warm the liquid soup on top of the lid.

After 3 minutes, add the liquid soup.

Mix well and it's ready. A bright red oil film spreads over the soup, visually appealing to those who want an 'extremely spicy' dish. However, the feeling of 'it looks incredibly spicy' that I had when I opened the packet of powdered soup surprisingly subsided, and when I actually ate it, there was a slight tingling sensation on my tongue, but it wasn't so spicy that I would choke. Like the regular product, the bean sprouts were very crisp and satisfying to eat, but if it's advertised as 'extremely spicy,' I felt it could have been a step spicier. Perhaps the moisture from the bean sprouts is reducing the spiciness.
