According to the official Bluesky account, Attie is 'the first agent-based social app on the AT protocol' and a completely new attempt to make development on the AT protocol more accessible.

1/ Today, we're excited to introduce Attie, currently as an invite-only closed beta. Attie is the first agentic social app on atproto. It's something completely new—an experiment in making building on the protocol more accessible.

Because the AT protocol is built as an open network, anyone can create the social experience they want, but customizing feeds requires engineering skills. That's why the Bluesky team developed 'Attie,' which allows you to create personalized custom feeds simply by communicating in a chat format.

2/ The Atmosphere was built as an open network, so anybody could create the social experience they desired. But it's always required engineering skills to customize your feed.

3/ Attie was designed by the Bluesky team to pull down that barrier, and make feed-building as easy as chatting. You describe what you want, and it makes a customized feed for you.

Jay Graeber, who stepped down as CEO of Bluesky in March 2026 to become Chief Innovation Officer (CIO), said, 'As CIO, I first established an 'Exploration' team to find out what it would be like if I could have the social experience I wanted. The first thing we developed was 'Attie,' an agent-based social app and custom feed builder named after the AT protocol.'

Attie is being developed by the Bluesky team, but since the AT protocol is an open system, it should be usable with other compatible services besides Bluesky.

Attie's beta version launched on March 30, 2026, but it's currently invitation-only. If you don't have an invitation code, you'll be placed on a waitlist.
