A silent change has occurred with X Premium, making X Pro (TweetDeck) unavailable to anyone who is not a Premium Plus subscriber.

X (formerly Twitter) previously offered 'X Pro,' a feature that allowed users to view multiple timelines simultaneously and schedule posts, exclusively to paid 'X Premium' users. However, it has now been revealed that X Pro has been changed to be exclusive to the highest tier of the three-tiered system, 'X Premium Plus,' without prior notice.

X Pro was originally offered as the official web app, TweetDeck, and was renamed 'X Pro' in August 2023. Subsequently, it became a feature limited to paid users.

X Premium, X's paid subscription service, has three levels: Basic, Premium, and Premium Plus. Prices vary by country , but in Japan, Basic costs 368 yen per month or 3,916 yen per year, Premium costs 980 yen per month or 10,280 yen per year, and Premium Plus costs 6,080 yen per month or 60,040 yen per year.

Features common to all three levels include 'editing posts,' 'posting long texts of 140 characters or more,' 'uploading videos up to 3 hours and 8GB,' and 'creating communities.' Premium and Premium Plus levels offer additional features such as 'verified blue checkmark,' 'creator revenue sharing,' 'creator subscriptions,' 'gifting Premium to non-users,' 'reduced ad count,' and 'increased Grok usage limits.'

Premium Plus offers even greater Grok usage limits, as well as access to features such as ad-free browsing on X, boosted replies, and the 'Articles' function.

Previously, X Pro was available to Premium users, but a change was implemented in the early hours of March 27th, and now Premium users who wish to use it are required to subscribe to Premium Plus.

Because there was no prior notification of the changes, users suddenly found that features they were previously able to use were no longer available, leading to widespread dissatisfaction on X.

'Elon Musk, are you suggesting that by taking away TweetDeck, which made engagement and posting so easy, you want us to spend less time on X? I think that's a great idea. It's definitely not going to backfire.'

'X Pro is a great tool, but it's not worth continuing to use after a roughly 400% price increase. X Pro was the only reason I continued my paid subscription service, so this is a perfect reason to cancel. Brilliant move, Elon Musk.'

In response to users affected by this situation, Nikita Bier, product manager for X, stated that a high-performance replacement tool for X Pro will be released in the next one to two weeks, and that X Pro will be intended for users with specific workflow requirements.
