Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, an Apple product expert, said the foldable iPhone's outer display will likely be about the size of a small iPhone. The inner display, visible when unfolded, will have a wider aspect ratio, similar to Google's original Pixel Fold, but different from current folding flagships like the Pixel Fold 10 and Galaxy Z Fold 7.

Additionally, Apple is expected to revamp its iOS multitasking system, introducing a new interface that isn't a direct copy of the iPad, with a sidebar on the left side of the screen and apps displayed side-by-side. This new layout could make multitasking easier.

According to Gurman, the foldable iPhone won't be able to run existing iPad apps as is, but it will likely offer a mechanism for developers to adapt their iPhone apps to more closely resemble the iPad.

Gurman also reports that the foldable iPhone may integrate Touch ID into the side button instead of Face ID, as the inner display is reportedly too thin to accommodate the Face ID sensor array.

On the other hand, like other foldable smartphones, it is expected to have a front camera for taking selfies, and it also seems to have the 'Dynamic Island' black information display area that has always been included in recent iPhones.

Gurman said the price of the foldable iPhone is expected to be around $2,000 (approximately 318,000 yen).

While Samsung is the leading name in the US market when it comes to foldable smartphones, Motorola is actually the leader, holding half of the market share, according to a survey.

Gurman has previously reported that Apple is planning to release a vertical-folding iPhone after releasing the horizontal-folding iPhone.
