GLM-5 has outperformed Gemini 3.0 Pro and GPT-5.2 in multiple benchmarks, and can also perform administrative tasks such as creating Word documents as an agent. GLM-5 is an AI model with 744 billion total parameters and 40 billion active parameters. It uses a proprietary reinforcement learning framework called slime to significantly improve learning efficiency, achieving improved capabilities in inference, coding, and agent tasks compared to GLM-4.7, which was released in December 2025.
