Amazon Sidewalk is a network built by connecting multiple devices, such as Amazon security cameras and doorbells. If your device supports Amazon Sidewalk, you can find out where your device is within network range and receive notifications in the event of a natural disaster, even if you're not connected to your home Wi-Fi or mobile network. Privacy within the network is protected, and it's not possible to spy on or control other people's devices.

Amazon Sidewall has only been available in the US since its launch in 2021, but is expected to roll out to other regions in late 2026, including Japan, the UK, the EU, Australia, and New Zealand.
Amazon Sidewall offers a variety of features, and new features are planned to be added with this update. For example, 'Neighbors,' which allows neighbors to share information with each other, will be enhanced with a new feature called 'Fire Watch,' which provides early warnings and real-time information in the event of a fire. When using Fire Watch with certain smart smoke detectors and the optional 'Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Monitoring Service,' trained operators can respond when an alarm goes off. Neighbors and Fire Watch are not planned to be available in Japan.

Amazon also announced various new information at the technology trade fair 'CES 2026' held from January 6, 2026, including the 'Ring Sensors,' a group of always-on sensor products equipped with Amazon Sidewalk.
Ring Sensors works with Amazon Sidewalk and allows users to add existing devices to Amazon Sidewalk, including door and window sensors that notify users when a door is opened or closed, motion sensors that monitor the entire room with pet-friendly settings, glass breakage sensors that use AI to detect glass breaking sounds, an emergency button that instantly calls for assistance with the push of a button, and exterior door sensors that extend protection to gates, sheds, and garages.
Amazon explained that this will create a security network that protects both inside and outside your home even if your home network or power goes down.
Also on the market is the Ring Mobile Security Trailer, a self-propelled security vehicle equipped with a solar-powered device and built-in battery.

The company also unveiled the Ring Elite, a security camera that can cover a wide area.

Amazon.co.jp offers Ring products such as security cameras and camera-equipped doorbells.
