According to Pinterest, generative AI-generated content is spreading at a rapid pace online, accounting for 57% of all content. In response to this demand, users have expressed a desire to have a more appropriate mix of human-made and generative AI content to fuel their creativity and inspiration. Pinterest is introducing new controls that allow users to choose whether they want to see more or less generative AI content in their feed.
A new tab for generated AI content will be added to the Recommendations settings, as shown below.

Turning the toggle off will prevent Pinterest from recommending AI-generated content in that category.

'Our community is at the heart of everything we do at Pinterest,' said Matt Madrigal, Chief Technology Officer at Pinterest. 'With our new generative AI controls, we're helping people personalize their experience on Pinterest more than ever before. We're striking the right balance between human creativity and AI innovation to truly reflect what inspires people most across every feed.'
The new feature is now available for desktop operating systems and Android, with a gradual rollout to iOS over the coming weeks.
