In a tweet posted on July 1, 2021, Moseri announced plans to improve Instagram's creators, videos, shopping, and messages to bring new experiences to users. Especially for videos, he said that he would introduce a function to recommend and display videos of people that users do not follow as a 'feed'.

There are two types of Instagram posts: 'Stories', which can process media with various tools in 24 hours, and 'Feeds', which can be processed only with filters and cannot be erased. The feed is usually not displayed in full screen but is displayed within a certain frame, but the new feature that Mr. Moseri talks about is that it will be displayed in full screen to enhance immersiveness and entertainment.

'The number one reason users use Instagram is to'entertain other users', and users want Instagram to be entertaining,' Moseri said. 'Instagram is no longer just an app for sharing square photos,' Moseri said. 'Tiktok is huge, YouTube is even bigger, there are many other start-ups, and Instagram is in serious competition.' He showed his willingness to compete with these services.

In the app billing ranking in the first half of 2021, Tiktok and YouTube occupy the 1st and 2nd place in the overall ranking of the Google Play store and the App Store, which shows the popularity of the video posting service. In May 2021, YouTube announced that it would pay a total of over 10 billion yen to posters of the short movie posting function, and is focusing on expanding new functions.

In August 2020, Instagram launched 'Reel', a service that allows you to post short videos in 50 countries around the world, and it is expected that it will further develop with the new features announced this time.
