In a tweet posted on July 1, 2021, Mosseri announced plans to improve Instagram's four areas of creators, video, shopping, and messaging to bring new experiences to users. In particular, he said that for videos, a feature will be introduced that will display recommended videos of people that users do not follow as a 'feed.'

There are two types of Instagram posts : 'Stories,' which are deleted after 24 hours and can be edited with various tools, and 'Feed,' which can be edited only with filters. The feed is usually not displayed full screen but within a certain frame, but the new feature that Mosseri is talking about will be displayed full screen to increase immersion and entertainment value.

'The No. 1 reason people use Instagram is to entertain other users, and people want Instagram to be entertaining,' Mosseri said. 'Instagram is no longer just an app for sharing square photos,' he said. 'Tiktok is huge, YouTube is even bigger, there are a lot of other startups, and Instagram is under serious competition,' he said, showing his stance on competing with these services.
