The Pura X looks like this. It is a vertical folding smartphone, so it becomes very compact when folded.
When unfolded, the display has an aspect ratio of 16:10, a resolution of 2120 x 1320 pixels, and a size of 6.3 inches. LTPO 2.0 supports a dynamic refresh rate of 1 to 120Hz and a maximum brightness of 500 nits.
Huawei is promoting the device as offering 'an immersive experience beyond your imagination when reading, watching movies, playing games, and more,' and it does indeed come equipped with reading-oriented features such as an 'AI eye-tracking page-turning function' that allows you to automatically turn the page by simply looking up after viewing it.
Meanwhile, technology media Android Authority questioned Huawei's advertising slogan, pointing out that 'most video services are not designed for 16:10 screens, so black bars will likely be displayed above and below videos.' However, it also noted that the wider aspect ratio 'will make split-screen multitasking more comfortable.'
Below the main camera is a 3.5-inch external screen with a resolution of 980 x 980 pixels that can be used when closed. The external screen can be used for calls, games, and messaging apps.
The external screen can also be used to preview photos taken with the main camera, which is a triple camera consisting of a 50-megapixel camera with f/1.6 aperture, a 40-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and an 8-megapixel camera with 3.5x zoom. In addition to this, it also has a 1.5-megapixel color sensor.
One of the advantages of foldable smartphones is that their more powerful main cameras make it easier to take selfies and group photos.
