What is the most Mario-like color scheme?

Mario, the most well-known video game character in the world, is known for his bright red hat and blue overalls. Artist Louie Mantia has been researching the most Mario-like color schemes based on Mario-related game logos.

The Most Mario Colors

Mario has two different logo styles. The first is the simple style used in the side-scrolling Super Mario Bros. series logo:

The other is the multi-colored style that is mostly used in

3D Mario games , which first appeared in Super Mario World .

The logo for the film '

The Super Mario Bros. Movie ' also uses a multi-color style.

The multi-colored logo has different colors for each letter, but the order of the colors varies from game to game. Mantia was fascinated by this color arrangement pattern and was researching what color scheme would be 'most Mario-like.'

Mantia's analysis focused on Mario titles that met the following criteria:

- The title uses a polygonal style.
-Mario's name is in the title
- Mario's name in the logo is displayed in multiple colors
- The order of the colors does not follow the order of the rainbow

The color scheme of 'Mario' for each work is as follows. Note that Mantia investigated the color scheme of the overseas version of the logo, so it is slightly different from the information of the Japanese version.
