Google launches 'Daily Listen,' which uses AI to generate audio summaries of topics of interest to users in less than five minutes, allowing users to quickly check the trends of the day by voice

Google has announced ' Daily Listen ', a new audio summary tool for trending topics, in its

Search Labs program, where users can try out services in the early stages of development. 9to5Google reports that Daily Listen is 'very similar to NotebookLM ', while Android Authority reports that it is 'a tool that uses a similar approach to NotebookLM to deliver the latest news'.

Daily Listen is a tool that generates concise, 5-minute or less audio summaries of the latest happenings from the topics you select as your interests in Google Discover .

Daily Listen is available on the Google app for iOS and Android and appears on the home screen of the Google app as follows: 'Daily Listen' is labeled 'Made for you.'

When you tap, an audio summary of up to 5 minutes will be played as shown below. There are no visual elements, and the audio summary appears to be output in text format at the top of the screen. At the bottom of the text, 'Generative AI is experimental' is displayed in small letters, allowing you to give feedback on the output audio summary. Below that are audio controls, which allow you to play/pause the audio, rewind 10 seconds, move to another audio summary, and mute the audio.

Additionally, articles related to the audio summary are listed at the bottom, allowing users to gather more detailed information on their own. You can also keep playing the audio summary while viewing related articles, and if it is playing, you can stop the audio at any time from the top of the screen.

At the time of writing, only Android and iOS users in the United States can test Daily Listen. Even if you start the test, it will take a day for Daily Listen to appear.
