◆Supports playback of H.265 (HEVC) video content
Support for playback of H.265 video content is now available on Windows devices with hardware support. H.265 has complicated rights and expensive licensing fees, so browser support has not progressed. However, with Firefox 134, H.265 is now supported on all major browsers on Windows with hardware support.

◆Renewed 'New Tab' layout
The logo will be placed in the upper left, the search bar and shortcuts will be placed directly above, and the weather widget will be placed in the upper right. Below that, 'recommended articles' will be arranged in a card-like format in up to four columns. This change will be rolled out in Firefox 134 only to users living in the United States and Canada.

◆ Suppress excessive pop-up blocking
Browsers have a mechanism to allow certain actions only when the browser is in an 'active' state immediately after the user performs an action such as clicking. When a page attempts to perform a pop-up, the browser checks the user's state and chooses whether to block or allow it, but Firefox has tended to block excessively.

In Firefox 134, the way 'active' state is determined has been changed to strictly follow web standards, allowing popups to be displayed correctly as they should be.

Changes for developers
- Debugger source code is now reloaded when the extension is reloaded.

Debugger log point values are now automatically converted to profiler markers.

- A dedicated indicator showing '

103 Early Hints ' has been added to the network panel.

- On Linux, you can now stop scrolling by placing two fingers on the touchpad.

- The German-based search engine

Ecosia has expanded its coverage area to include Austria, Belgium, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland in addition to Germany.
