CES 2025, a consumer electronics trade fair, will be held in Las Vegas, USA from January 7 to January 10, 2025 local time. AMD held a presentation on the contents of its exhibits prior to CES 2025. One of the new products announced by AMD is the 'Ryzen Z2' series of handheld (small and lightweight) gaming processors, which provide a unique combination of power and efficiency, delivering a world-class desktop gaming experience in a portable, compact machine.
The three models announced were 'AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme', 'AMD Ryzen Z2' and 'AMD Ryzen Z2 Go', and their features are as follows. The two shown in blue below are 'Ryzen Z1 Extreme' and 'Ryzen Z1', announced in April 2023, and are lined up for comparison.

According to the official page, AMD Ryzen Z2 Go 'offers great value for portable gaming', AMD Ryzen Z2 is 'high performance ideal for handheld PC gaming', and AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme is 'ultimate performance for elite handheld PC gaming'.

Titles have become more immersive and demanding, so having the right hardware and software is critical to the best player experience,' said Jack Huynh, senior vice president and general manager of AMD's Computing and Graphics Group. 'Today's announcement underscores our commitment to giving gamers around the world the freedom to choose their own gaming experience, unhindered by performance bottlenecks.'
Systems with Ryzen Z2 processors are expected to be available starting in the first quarter of 2025.
