At CES 2025 , the world's largest consumer electronics trade fair held in Las Vegas, USA, AMD announced the Ryzen 9 9950X3D and Ryzen 9 9900X3D, processors for desktop gaming PCs. Jack Huynh, senior vice president and general manager of AMD's Computing & Graphics Group, said, 'Gaming has become one of the biggest forms of entertainment around the world. As titles become more immersive and demanding, it is important to have the right hardware and software to get the best player experience. Today's announcement underscores our commitment to giving gamers around the world the freedom to choose their own gaming experience without being tied down by performance bottlenecks.'
The 'Ryzen 9 9950X3D' and 'Ryzen 9 9900X3D' are new 'X3D' processors equipped with the Zen 5 architecture and RDNA 2 graphics, and based on the second generation 3D V-Cache technology. By placing the cache memory under the core complex die (CCD) and placing the 'Zen 5' core closer to the cooling mechanism, it is possible to achieve higher clock frequencies at lower temperatures, resulting in superior performance compared to the previous model.
The specs of the 'Ryzen 9 9950X3D' and 'Ryzen 9 9900X3D' are as follows, and they are scheduled to be released from the first quarter of 2025.

The presentation showed a graph comparing the performance of various game titles with the ' Ryzen 9 7950X3D '. According to this, the 'Ryzen 9 9950X3D' showed 8% higher performance than the 'Ryzen 9 7950X3D' in over 40 game titles.
AMD also announced the Ryzen 9 9000HX series of processors for gaming laptops. Based on the second-generation 3D V-Cache technology, AMD says that by placing memory under the processor, it offers performance benefits, lower temperatures, and higher clock frequencies.
The specifications of the 'Ryzen 9 9000HX' series are as follows, and it is scheduled to be released in the first half of 2025.
