AMD announces 'Ryzen AI 300' notebook processor and 'Ryzen 9000' desktop PC processor based on Zen 5 architecture
On June 3, 2024, AMD announced the Ryzen AI 300 series of processors for AI laptops, which use the CPU microarchitecture Zen 5 , and the Ryzen 9000 series of processors for desktop PCs.

On June 3, AMD announced its next-generation architecture, Zen 5, and a product series of processors equipped with Zen 5 at Computex 2024, a computer trade fair held in Taiwan.
The 'Ryzen AI 300' series is a processor for thin and light notebook PCs, with up to 12 Zen 5 cores and 24 threads, and 50% more on-chip L3 cache memory than the previous generation Zen 4 processor. It also features a dedicated AI engine built on the new AMD XDNA 2 architecture, providing 50 TOPS of AI processing power, exceeding the PC requirements for Microsoft's Copilot+.
During the live broadcast, AMD CEO Lisa Su, who served as presenter, also showed off the Ryzen AI 300 processor.
The Ryzen AI 300 series will improve productivity and creativity by efficiently processing local AI workloads, generating content and automating workflows while maintaining excellent power efficiency. OEM partners such as Acer, ASUS, HP, Lenovo and MSI plan to announce PCs equipped with Ryzen AI 300 processors, and AMD says it is also working closely with ecosystem partners such as Microsoft and Zoom.

AMD has also announced the 'Ryzen 9000' series of processors for Zen 5-equipped desktop PCs. Based on the Zen 5 architecture, the Ryzen 9000 series has an average of 16% improvement in instructions per cycle (IPC) compared to the previous generation Zen 4-equipped processor, allowing gamers to enjoy smooth gameplay across a wide range of titles, from AAA blockbusters to e-sports. It is also said that content creators can maximize the potential of their creative workflows in 3D modeling and animation production.
