AMD announces 'Ryzen AI PRO 300' AI processor for notebook PCs, equipped with a high-performance NPU and capable of AI processing performance of up to 55 TOPS

The specs of the ' Ryzen AI 300 ' series announced by AMD in June 2024 are as follows. The AI processing performance of the Ryzen AI 300 was 50 TOPS, but the top model of the Ryzen AI PRO 300, the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX PRO 375, has been improved to 55 TOPS.

According to AMD, the Ryzen AI PRO 300 series is the third generation of commercial AI mobile processors, designed to perform in areas such as automatic subtitle generation and language translation in conference calls, and advanced AI image generation, and is compliant with the requirements of Microsoft's AI PC group 'Copilot +'. It is said to be the world's best lineup of Copilot + processors for enterprises.

The top-of-the-line model, the Ryzen AI 9 HX PRO 375, is said to offer up to 40% higher performance and up to 14% faster productivity performance than Intel's Core Ultra 7 165U . In two benchmarks posted by AMD, the Ryzen AI 9 HX PRO 375 was shown to be more than 40% faster.

It is manufactured using a 4nm process rule, and the architecture is Zen 5. It also integrates the AI-oriented XDNA 2 architecture, achieving AI processing power of over 50 TOPS.

OEM systems equipped with the Ryzen AI PRO 300 series are scheduled to be available in stores from the second half of 2024. Since Microsoft, HP, and Lenovo made statements at the time of the announcement, it is expected that at least these three companies will release products equipped with the processor.
