Checking the battery life and charging time of the pocket gimbal camera 'Osmo Pocket 3'

Osmo Pocket 3 is a pocket gimbal camera that can capture subjects without blurring even while moving thanks to its 3-axis mechanical stabilization mechanism, and can shoot slow-motion videos at up to 4K/120fps. I was curious about how long I could shoot videos with a compact pocket-sized gimbal camera, so I actually measured the operating time and charging time of the battery.

◆I checked the battery operating time
According to the specifications page on the official DJI website, the distributor of Osmo Pocket 3, the device is equipped with a 1,300mAh LiPo battery and has a battery life of 166 minutes (at room temperature of 25°C, with 1080p/24fps (16:9) video recording, Wi-Fi off, and screen off) .

However, after taking various photos using Osmo Pocket 3, it seems unlikely that you will ever use it with the screen turned off. So, I actually measured how long the battery life of Osmo Pocket 3 would be with the screen turned on.

With the battery fully charged, the screen brightness at 100%, and Wi-Fi on, we checked how many minutes of 1080p/30fps (16:9 aspect ratio) video we could shoot.

Battery operating time: 2 hours 16 minutes 22 seconds (136 minutes 22 seconds)

In addition, Osmo Pocket 3 also has a battery handle that can be used as an external battery, so we also measured the operating time with this attached. In addition, with both the battery handle and the Osmo Pocket 3 battery charged to 100%, the screen brightness is 100%, and Wi-Fi is also on, we will check how many minutes of 1080p / 30fps (aspect ratio 16: 9) video can be shot.

Battery operating time: 3 hours 44 minutes 49 seconds (224 minutes 49 seconds)

Checking the battery charging time
Since the battery was empty, I then measured the battery charging time of the Osmo Pocket 3. According to the official

specs page of the Osmo Pocket 3, the battery charging time of the Osmo Pocket 3 is ' 80% in 16 minutes, 100% in 32 minutes (measured in a lab environment using a DJI 65W PD standard compatible charger (sold separately)) .'

This time, I did not have a charger that was compatible with the DJI 65W PD standard, so I used the ACA-PD101 , which has a maximum output of 30W, to charge the battery.

When I checked the charging output with

the Power-Z KM003C , I was able to charge at an output of over 28W.

The battery level recovered to 21% within 5 minutes of starting charging.

40% in 10 minutes

60% in 15 minutes

The official version said the battery could be charged to 80% in 16 minutes, but in reality it only managed to charge to 64%.

80% in 20 minutes

97% in 25 minutes

It took 26 minutes and 49 seconds to charge to 100%. The official charging time was 32 minutes.

In addition, we will also measure the charging time of the battery handle, which can be used as an external battery. In order to know the remaining battery level of the battery handle in detail, we charged the Osmo Pocket 3 battery to 100% and inserted the battery handle with 0% remaining battery to charge it.

The battery level recovered to 7% in 5 minutes after charging started.

18% in 10 minutes

When charging the battery, the Osmo Pocket 3 screen shows how much charge the battery has, but for some reason this stopped showing halfway through. So from then on, I turned on the Osmo Pocket 3 to check the battery level.
