The GV50 package looks like this:
I took it out of the box. The contents are the GV50 main unit, the stand, the instruction manual, 4 cords, and the remote control.
We compared the size of the GV50 with that of a public transport interchange when it was laid down. The side is circular, and the actual size is about 19.5 cm. The longest diameter, including the pointed part, is about 21 cm.
The actual width is approximately 8.5cm.
Below is an image of what it would look like with one hand of an adult male. It weighs 2.1kg and is a bit wide, so it's a bit tiring to hold with one hand, but if you hold it with both hands or put your fingers into the strap in the foreground of the image below, it's a comfortable weight to carry.
The buttons on the main unit look like this. I'll check out the next review article for specific instructions on how to use it.
When you turn the circular GV50 around, you can see the projector's projection lens and autofocus sensor. The GV50 is the first BenQ mobile projector to use a laser light source that is characterized by its high brightness, and is said to have features such as 'quick start-up,' 'long life of up to 20,000 hours,' and 'low heat generation and high noise.'
Directly opposite the buttons was a screw hole for mounting on a tripod.
The side is covered with speakers, and there are ports on only one side: from the left, earphone jack, USB-A, HDMI, USB-C, and power terminal.
When the GV50 is placed on the dedicated stand, it looks like this. It is basically used in this position.
Viewed from the back it looks like this:
The back of the stand is non-slip, and the upper part can be rotated, so you can rotate the GV50 360 degrees while it is on the stand to adjust the projection location.
Furthermore, the part that says 'OPEN' can be removed as a leg by hooking your finger into it.
By removing the legs, the stand can be angled so you can aim the projection where you want it.
You can see how the GV50 is actually placed on the stand and spun around, and how the legs of the stand are removed and angled by watching the movie below.
Below is the remote control that comes with the GV50.
The GV50 has a built-in
The back of the remote control.
You can replace the batteries in the remote control by sliding the cover at the bottom of the back down.
The GV50 remote control requires two AAA batteries.
The GV50 is a mobile projector that can be rotated approximately 180 degrees vertically and 360 degrees horizontally while remaining stable on the stand, making it easy to project onto walls and ceilings while still being compact. When using a projector, it can be difficult to find a place to place it or to adjust the projection angle, so the ease of handling of the GV50 is attractive. In addition, the image quality of the GV50 has been improved from the previous model, and it is said that you can enjoy more than two hours of image even without a cord, so in the next article we will continue to set it up and check its performance.
The GV50 is also available on Amazon.co.jp, and the selling price at the time of writing was 119,800 yen including tax.
