Regarding the partnership between Google and Samsung, the two companies commented that they are 'building a collaborative relationship as one team,' and it was revealed that other companies such as Sony, Xreal, and Lynx Mixed Reality will also participate in the development of Android XR devices. Regarding its future platform strategy, Samsung stated that it 'does not see any benefit in developing other platforms,' revealing its intention to continue collaborating with Android XR in the long term.

According to Road to VR, Project Moohan is powered by a Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 processor and has a pancake lens and automatic IPD adjustment. Although the field of view is slightly narrower than that of the Meta Quest 3 and Apple Vision Pro, the pass-through camera has excellent image quality, especially at arm's length. Project Moohan uses an external battery pack, and it is not yet decided whether a controller will be included in the package.

9to5Google highly praised the software. Google Photos now automatically converts 2D photos and videos to 3D, achieving the same quality as Apple Vision Pro. Google Maps now supports Gaussian splats for indoor stereoscopic views in addition to the traditional Immersive View.


Digital Trends noted the ease of use and praised the ability to seamlessly switch between multiple input methods, including hand gestures, eye tracking, and a physical keyboard and mouse. They noted that the combination of eye tracking and 'pinch' gestures was particularly intuitive.


One feature that has been highly praised by media is the integration of Gemini AI. Project Moohan is equipped with a Gemini-based AI agent called ' Project Astra ', which can continuously recognize both the real and virtual worlds, has a 10-minute rolling memory, and can understand the context of past conversations. This is a major advantage over Siri, which is specialized for a single task, and Meta AI, which only recognizes the real world.

Compared to Apple Vision Pro, the device is significantly lighter and the bottom is open by default to ensure peripheral vision. However, it does not have an external display called 'EyeSight', a distinctive feature of Apple Vision Pro. Compared to Meta Quest 3, Quest 3 is considered superior in terms of lens quality, but Project Moohan is evaluated as superior in terms of pass-through camera resolution and motion blur processing.

The prototype announced this time is merely a prototype, and details of the main specifications such as resolution, weight, viewing angle, and price have not been released at this time. Regarding pricing, Samsung's development manager Won-Joon Choi suggested that they are considering a price lower than the Apple Vision Pro's minimum price of 599,800 yen, and said, 'We are continuing to research a price range that customers will feel comfortable with.' The product is scheduled to be released in 2025, and further improvements may be made until then.
