However, the Surface Studio 2+ failed to make a mark in the market due to its $7,191 price tag and outdated internal components compared to other desktop PCs.
And from November to December 2024, the Surface Studio 2+ will no longer be available for purchase in several regions, and at the time of writing, it is 'out of stock' at Microsoft's official store in Japan. A Microsoft spokesperson told Windows Central, 'Surface Studio 2+ has been discontinued, and new purchases of Surface Studio 2+ are not available in regions where it is out of stock. Customers can continue to purchase Surface Studio 2+ through retailers and partners that have it in stock.'
According to Windows Central, at the time of writing, no successor to the Surface Studio 2+ has been developed, and the Surface Studio 2+ may effectively be the last Surface Studio series. Meanwhile, Microsoft is focusing on mainstream products that are highly popular in the commercial market, such as the Surface Pro and Surface Laptop, and new products for the Surface Pro, Surface Laptop, Surface Laptop Go, and Surface Laptop Studio are scheduled to be released in 2025.
