'Nintendo Music', a service that allows you to listen to Nintendo game music on your smartphone, has been released, so I tried using it

Nintendo began distributing the smartphone app ' Nintendo Music ' on Thursday, October 31, 2024, which allows users to listen to Nintendo game music. The app is available to

Nintendo Switch Online users, allowing them to enjoy the background music of ' Super Mario Odyssey ' and ' The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild ' anytime, anywhere.

When you install and launch Nintendo Music, you will be asked to log in to your Nintendo Account. To use Nintendo Music, you will need to join the paid subscription plan Nintendo Switch Online, but you do not need to register for the '+ Additional Pack.' When you tap 'Log in,' the login screen will appear.

If you successfully log in, your icon and account will be displayed. Tap 'Next'.

You will be asked for permission to allow notifications. Tap 'Next'.

The artwork being played may show the game's stage screen, which may be a spoiler for games you haven't played yet. In order to avoid spoilers due to song titles and artwork, Nintendo Music allows you to register games you want to prevent spoilers from in advance. Tap 'Start'.

The top screen looks like this.

By tapping 'Search' at the bottom, you can check the game music registered at the time of writing. The Nintendo Switch titles are 'Pikmin 4', 'Pokémon Scarlet / Violet', 'Splatoon 3', 'Animal Crossing: New Horizons', 'Kirby Star Allies', 'Super Mario Odyssey', 'Mario Kart 8 Deluxe', and 'The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild'.

You can listen to the background music from 'Super Mario Galaxy' and 'Wii Channel' on the Wii, 'Tomodachi Collection' and 'nintendogs' on the Nintendo DS, 'Metroid Prime' on the Nintendo GameCube, and 'Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword' on the Game Boy Advance.

The songs included are also available on the official website, and the songs included at the time of release are marked as 'Delivered

on 10/31/2024,' so it's entirely possible that more songs will be added in the future.

There are character playlists and playlists for each artist.

For example, the Bowser character playlist contains music from the castle stages in the Mario series where Bowser awaits.

The most distinctive feature of Nintendo Music is the 'Length Change' feature.

For example, the following is a scene where 'Ohanabatake', the stage BGM of 'Super Mario Yoshi's Island', is being played. Tap 'Length Change' at the bottom.

You can then choose the playback length from 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or 60 minutes. Game music is usually composed to be played in a loop while playing. When playing a soundtrack with a general audio player, the song is often edited to fade out at the end. However, with Nintendo Music, it is possible to automatically set the game BGM to loop in the same way as the gameplay. Therefore, you can keep your favorite BGM playing for a long time like ambient music.
