Meta's large-scale language model 'Llama' reaches 350 million downloads



It has been revealed that the cumulative number of downloads of the large-scale language model ' Llama '

announced by Meta in 2023 has reached nearly 350 million. This figure is 10 times higher than the same period last year, and it has been downloaded more than 20 million times in July 2024 alone.

Meta released Llama 3 in April 2024, and Llama 3.1 in July 2024, which expands the context length to 128K and adds support for 8 languages. Llama 3.1 405B introduces the first frontier-level open source AI models.

According to Meta, the Llama ecosystem is growing rapidly, with total downloads approaching 350 million, 10 times more than a year ago. Additionally, Llama usage by token volume across major cloud service providers has more than doubled from May to July 2024. Monthly usage has also increased by up to 10 times at some of the largest cloud service providers.



Meta reported that its second-quarter 2024 earnings showed profits up 73% year over year.
