In response to this, several emulator apps have been planning to distribute them on the App Store. Chaoji Li , the developer of iDOS 3, also applied to Apple to release iDOS 3, but was rejected for violating App Store Guideline 4.7 .
However, in August 2024, Apple changed its policy and added the phrase 'PC emulator' to Guideline 4.7, allowing the distribution of PC emulator apps. As a result, iDOS 3 was released.
On the other hand, Li said, 'Apple's approval of PC emulator app distribution is something we've been waiting for for a long time. While I want to celebrate the release of iDOS 3, I have to be a little cautious about the future. Will iDOS 3 be okay in the future?' Overseas media The Verge noted, 'Li seems to be wary of the future of iDOS 3, as iDOS 2, which was previously distributed on the App Store, was suspended .'
iDOS 3 is available on the App Store for 100 yen (tax included).
