Introducing the Mo/Go, a wearable exoskeleton that makes hiking easier

The Mo/Go is a wearable exoskeleton that can be attached to your feet to support your body movements and make it easier to enjoy hiking while enjoying the natural scenery. It is said that using the Mo/Go makes you feel up to 30 pounds (about 14 kg) lighter, which may be useful for people who get tired easily after walking for a while or people with bad feet.

Developed jointly by apparel manufacturer Arc'Teryx and technology startup Skip, Mo/Go is a combination exoskeleton and pants that are designed to 'boost' the wearer's performance by 40% on uphill climbs and provide gentle knee support on downhill climbs.

When wearing it, you first place the exoskeleton on your knees and then cover them with pants.

Protruding from the trousers are attachments that connect the inner exoskeleton to the outer exoskeleton.

Once you attach the outer exoskeleton to this attachment, you're ready to go. It can operate for at least three hours on a single charge.

By the way, Mo/Go is an abbreviation for ' Mountain Goat .' Skip says that mountain goats running through high mountains perfectly embody the spirit of Mo/Go.

A reporter from Fast Company, a foreign media outlet, who actually tried out the Mo/Go, said, 'It's small and light in the hand, like a carbon fiber boomerang. It fits around your shins, knees, and thighs, and is surprisingly light once you start walking. I even found myself running up the stairs, skipping steps. Going down the stairs felt totally different, like it was absorbing the shock when I landed. My only concern is that sometimes I would kick my feet out against my will when going up the stairs, but this didn't cause me to lose my balance, and the software seems to optimize it to each individual's walking style, so it should be fine.'

The reservation price for Mo/Go is $5,000 (about 715,000 yen), and it can be shipped outside the United States, including Japan. The scheduled shipping date for those who have made reservations at the time of writing is December 2025.
